The Founder
Professor Sami Miaari
Associate Professor of Economics, Tel Aviv University
Professor Sami Miaari is more than an economist — he’s a changemaker. A Senior Lecturer in Labor Studies and Economics at Tel Aviv University and former visiting professor/fellow at Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government (2018–2020) and Yale University (2024–2025), he brings over two decades of expertise across academia, public policy, and economic innovation.
His PhD dissertation on the economic costs of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict gained international recognition, and his research, published in top-tier journals including the Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and Journal of the European Economic Association, has had real impact on regional and global policy.
Prof. Miaari has advised leading international institutions including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, Bank of Palestine, and Bank of Israel. He is the founder of the Arab Economic Forum (2012) for socio-economic development, and recipient of prestigious accolades including the Marie Curie Fellowship (2017) and Best Paper Award from the Middle East Economic Association (2016).
